With winds gusting at 30 mph, the Bills improve their 1980 season record to 6-2 and beat the Patriots 31-13.

Or… as an alternate: Red pants for BOTH white and blue jerseys… the striping down the pant sides to match the striping at mid-helmet, with the Buffalo Bills logo draped across the hip part.

Actually, it was 1986 that saw the Bills wear white jerseys at home for the last time. The next season, they ditched white as the home jersey altogether.

IMHO, the Bills should go back to blue jersey-white pants/white jersey-blue pants combinations. None of this white-on-white or blue-on-blue junk.

It hard to believe today that only 25% of the teams in the NFL were originally charter members of the AFL in 1960. And this is about as AFL as it gets. The Bills had a different design shift here from their AFL iniforms, but still the same colors. The Pats’s had not changed from day 1, and still had another 12 years to go before any would come.

Why did the Bills wear white unis at home?

Since 1988-ish, they almost never wear the road unis at Orchard Park.

the pats were a very good team in 1980, i think they faded in the 2nd half of the season and missed the playoffs, even though the best record in the afc that year was 11-5

Len Dawson with the color. Matt Hassselbeck’s father is mentioned toward the end, as a tight end for New England.

Hey for what it’s worth, this is really awesome! I fell in love with the Bills in the 1980 and 1981 seasons. Wish I had video of some of these old games. Next best thing, I guess
